John C. Woods

Mr. John C. Woods, 64, of 4801 Nantucket Road, College Park, Maryland, passed away on September 25, 2016 at North West Hospital in Randalls Town Maryland.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 10:30 am at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Burial will follow in the Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie Mae Woods and General Columbus Best.

He leaves cherished memories to: one son, John C. Wood, Jr. of Washington, DC; four brothers, Gene Woods (Carol), Columbus Ruffin and Bobby Blount all of  Wilson, NC and Conrad Best, of New Jersey; two sisters, Virginia Blount (Earl) of Wilson and Carmellita Turner of Virginia; two aunts, Minnie Ruth Hall of Stantonsburg, NC and Mary Wood James of Wilson; several cousins including a special cousin, Melody Horne of Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins, family and friends including several special friends, Carolyn Joyner of Elm City, Elizabeth "Liz" Reid of Maryland, Jazier Perez of Maryland, Ernest Hall of Saratoga and Ann Artis of Stantonsburg.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
