I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend "Pep".. He was always expressing his views when we talked from sports ( i.e., CIAA tournaments ) to

Coach Peppers was one of my mentors, coaches, neighbor, role models, and friend. The conversations, laughs and visits to his home were in invaluable to my life. He was the reason I ran track instead of playing football or basketball and the reason I received a athletic scholarship and a college degree. I will never forget him and the lessons he taught me.

Coach Pepper was a great basketball coach at Hunt High School. Our son, Christy Rodri had the priviledge of being a member of the varsity team, while he was coaching.

It is with deep mourning, and deepest condolences to the Family of Coach Willis Peppers, that i write these things today. I held, and continue to hold, the utmost admiration and respect for Coach Peppers. I played football under his direction, and studied under his tutelage as my teacher for 3 years at Hunt high school. He mentored me, not only in the finer points of the sport, and the educational values of our school system, but in what it took to be an honorable man, with integrity in this society in which we live. I think of him often, and fondly, as I remember him and his instruction. May God bring comfort to all our hearts in his passing

I had the good fortune to know Coach Peppers as a teacher and as a coach. He was a fine person who would go out of his way to help someone who needed it. I spent many nights with him as a co-assisitant football coach and as an assistant coach under his tutelage on the varsity basketball level during his tenure as the head coach at Fike High School. "Pep" will be missed by all who knew him! He was a friend to all!

I played basketball at Fike for Coach Peppers and we had a great time! Coach Peppers was "cool", loud when he needed to be, funny when he wasn't trying to be, and a unique, authentic human being.
