Mrs. Helen J. Battle

Mrs. Helen J. Battle, 70, of 4405 Sweet Williams Lane, Wilson, NC, passed away on December 5, 2016.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Church of Christ, 7401 Stoney Hill Church Road, Bailey, NC.

Burial will follow in Middlesex Memorial Garden in Middlesex, NC. 

A wake service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Battle was preceded in death by her parents, John Earl Crumel and Emma Anderson Crumel and one brother, Ronnie Earl Crumel. 

She leaves cherished memories to: her husband, Willis Battle; two sons, Donnie Battle of Rocky Mount, NC and Ray Battle Jr. of Washington, DC; two daughters, Linda Clayton (Gary) of Washington, DC and Rhonda Young (Tonolin) of Oxon Hill, MD; five grandchildren, Olando Battle, Marc Battle, Cory Battle, Donyell Battle and Marcellous Kirby; four great grandchildren, Trinity, Paris, Nahdira and Markell; five sisters, Ella Ree Gray, Gloria Hicks (Ronnie), Diane Jenkins (Gilbert), Barbara Hilliard (Danny) and Lisa Crumel; four sisters-in-law, Peggy Yawn (Frank), Viola Brickley (William), Theresa Kirby and Debbie Thompson (James); four brothers- in- law, Nathan Battle, Jr.,( Ethel), Coy Battle (Wanda), Ed Battle and Bobby Burk, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
