Jessie (Williams) Currie

Mrs. Jessie Williams Currie, 92, of 1951 Old Wilson Road, Rocky Mount, NC passed away on February 7, 2016 at Rocky Mount Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, NC.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 730 Sutton Road, Rocky Mount, NC.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by one son, Billie Ray Artis, two daughters, Ruth Currie Darden and Mary Elizabeth Currie; her mother, Louisa Farmer Mitchell; and one brother, Columbus Farmer.

She leaves cherished memories to: three grandchildren, Derrick N. Darden (Annette) of Wilson, NC, Billie Ray Artis, Jr. (Sheretta) of NY, and Maria Battle (Donald) of Pinetops, NC;  twelve great grandchildren including, Ebony Artis of Greensboro, NC, Kenta Artis of the home, Malik Battle and Qwadasha Battle, both of Pinetops, NC; eight great-great grandchildren including, Joshua, Brooklyn, Bralen, Sanniyah, Kaleb, Khalief and Musical; one niece, Edna Ruth Farmer; of Alexandria Virginia; four nephews, Joseph Farmer and Melvin Farmer both of  Alexancdria, VA;  Antonio Farmer and Michael Canady of Wilson, NC;  a host of neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
