Huemilton Dickerson,Sr

Mr. Huemilton Dickerson, Sr., 79, of 1609 Queen Street, Ext., Wilson, NC passed away on April 21, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center, in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  Pastor Nathaniel Spells will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm also at Stevens Funeral Home. 

Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by: one son, Huemilton Dickerson, Jr.; his parents, Earl Johnson and Elizabeth Croom Wells; five brothers, William Johnson, James Johnson, Bobby Reid, Albert Roy Wells, and Rudolph Dickerson; and one sister, Bernice Marie Wells.

He leaves many loving and cherished memories to:  three sons, Henry Edwards (Renae) and Jesse Dickerson (Carrie), all of Wilson and Troy D. Dickerson (Veronica) of Elm City; two daughters, Ethel Dickerson and Suetonya Smith (Bernard), all of Wilson; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; six sisters, Minister Mary Pender (George), Barbara Blue, Pamela Bradberry (Doug) and Doris Sauls, all of Wilson, Mable Robinson of Chester, PA and Dorothy Jenkins of Albany, NY; four brothers, James Wells of Wilson, William Isaac Wells (Sheila) of Lucama, Anthony Johnson (Virginia) of Chester, PA and Freddie Ray Coley of Suitland, MD; one aunt, Minnie Dickerson Garris (Ed) of Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Carrie Dickerson, 1209 Thurston Drive, Wilson, NC and will assemble there on Tuesday at 12 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
