Dannie Thomas Rountree

Mr. Dannie Rountree, 55,  affectionately known as "Rat Man" of 4956 White Oak Loop Road, Wilson, NC, passed away on September 23, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 12 noon at Salisbury Church, 2029 Lipscomb Road, Wilson, NC.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  Pastor Annie Lou Perry will deliver the eulogy and Pastor Carol Robbins will preside.

The public viewing will be Monday, September 26, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  The family is asked to meet at the residence, 4956 White Oak Loop Road, Wilson, NC, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in preparation for the funeral procession.

Mr. Rountree was preceded in death by his father, Cornelius Rountree, Jr.

He leaves loving and cherished memories to:  two sons, Daniel Moore and Quincy Hines, both of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Brittany Moore of Winston Salem, NC; one grandchild; his mother, Eva Mae Lane Rountree, of the home; four brothers, Bobby Ray Barnes (Carolyn) of Lucama, NC, Cornelius Rountree, II of Wilson, NC; James Earl Rountree (Eloise) of Landover, MD; and Bobby Rountree (Deidre) of Annapolis, MD; three sisters, Ernestine Rountree Dunston (Ramon) of Elm City, NC, Peggy Rountree Suggs (Marion) of Wilson, NC and Latrenia Rountree of Raleigh, NC; four aunts, Olivia Gibson of Wilson, NC, Annie Bell Lewis of Goldsboro, NC, Irene Howell of Brooklyn, NY and Addie Mae Daniels of Queens, NY; Several nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends including a very dear and devoted friend, Brenda Forsythe of Wilson, NC.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
