Cornell Jones

Mr. Cornell Jones, 70, of 500 Woodard Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on December 11, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center.

Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:30 pm  at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm also at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, James Gilbert Jones and Annie Mae Carr Jones; brothers, Ronald Ray Jones, Nathaniel Jones, Thurman Sylvester Jones, Willie Earl Jones, Raymond Ray Jones, James Jones, Jr.,Lonnie Lee Jones and Harvey Lee Jones and two sisters, Sallie Mae Jones and Doris Jean Jones.

He leaves cherished memories to: two sons, Cornell Jones, Jr. (Denise) of Washington, DC, Paris Jones of Wilson, NC; two daughters, Carnita Hester (Tony) of Wilson, NC and Malisa Jones of Washington, DC; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Bertha Brooks of Wilson, NC, Linda Faye Johnson (Sammy) and Janet Jones of Goldsboro, NC and Emma Louise McCray of New Jersey; two brothers, Leonard Lee Jones of Georgia and Henry Lee Jones of Goldsboro, NC; his former wife and friend, Helen Jones of Wilson, NC; one uncle, Harvey Carr; three aunts, Christine Barnes, Edna Taylor and Helen Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.   

The family will meet at the residence at 11:30 am on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession. 

   Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr., Parkway, Wilson, NC.
