Willie James "Bill" Pitt

Mr. Willie Pitt, 88, of 1009 Academy Street, E., Wilson, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his home.

The funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Contending For The Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, NC.

A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway Wilson, NC.

Pastor Steven Kent will officiate, Dr. Dameion Royal will preside and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.

Mr. Pitt was preceded in death by:  his parents, Paul Pitt, Sr. and Irene Barnes Pitt; two brothers, Paul Pitt, Jr. and Richard Norris Pitt; and one grandson, Derrick S. Davis, II.

His memories will forever linger in the hearts of:  his wife of 65 years, Levolyre Pitt of the home; one son, James LeAndro Pitt of Greensboro, NC; one daughter, YoLanda M. Davis of Wilson; three grandchildren, Christian James Pitt of Singapore, Celine Debra Pitt of Douglasville, GA and Cedric Lee of Atlanta, GA; three great grandchildren, Derrick S. Davis, III, DeMaya S. Davis and Ceire Debra Donehoo; one aunt, Olive Mae Barnes of Elm City, NC; sister-in-law, Valerie Pitt of Norfolk, VA; three brothers-in-law, Johnny I. Farmer (Genieve), George Farmer and Bernard Farmer (Val); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special extended family member, Ron Gay of Knightdale.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
