Mrs. Ruby Rountree Staton 86, of 904 Rollingwood Drive in Wilson, NC, passed away on May 22, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 209 Pender Street, Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home,1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Preceding Ruby in death were: her parents, Herbert Rountree Sr. and Elizabeth Batts Rountree; six brothers, Willie Rountree, Herbert Rountree, Jr., Roland Rountree, James Rountree, Floyd Rountree, and Marvin Rountree; two sisters, Daisy Rountree Barnes, and Doris Rountree Farrington.
Her beautiful life and precious memories will forever be cherished by: her husband of over 60 years, Tommie Lee Staton; her daughter, Letechia Wilson, of the home; two granddaughters, Brandeis Williams of Pikeville, North Carolina and Jamei Williams of Wilson, North Carolina; one brother, Jesse Rountree (Inez), of Elm City, North Carolina; six sisters-in-law, Gladys Staton of Pinetops, North Carolina, Annie Mae Ellis of Pinetops, North Carolina, Catherine Wooton of Lisbon, Maryland, Leah Staton Vines, of Pinetops, North Carolina, Lucille Rountree of Wilson, North Carolina, and Betty Rountree of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, James Staton (Cynthia) of Baltimore, Maryland; a special niece, Jeanette Atkinson (Cookie), who was like her little sister, of Wilson, North Carolina; a special friend among many friends from Baltimore, Maryland, Agnes Monroe, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, located at 1820 Martin Luther King Jr., Parkway, NC.
