Rosemary Hardy Hooks Obituary

Mrs. Rosemary Hardy Hooks, 63, of 408 Lane Street, SE, Wilson, NC, passed away on February 15, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Wilson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 513 S. Barnes Street, Wilson, NC. Bishop Robert L. Gorham, DD will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Hooks was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Atkinson and Ethel Scott Hardy; four brothers, Joseph F. Hardy, Charles J. Hardy, Robert Hardy and James L. Hardy; grandparents, Charlie Scott and Lula Scott.

She leaves cherished memories to: three brothers, Willie L. Hardy of Wilson, NC, Donnie R. Hardy (Betsy) of Prince George County, VA and LeRoy Hardy (Nedith) of Fayetteville, NC; three aunts, Edna Ransome of Charlotte, NC, Catherine Stafford (Benjamin) of Georgetown, SC, Ruby Evans of Arvere, Long Island, NY; one sister-in-law, Bessie Hardy of Wilson, NC; a special cousin, Josephine Thomas (Daniel) of Virginia Beach, VA; a very special friend, Rebecca Dock (Willie) of Wilson, NC; one god daughter, Sierra Willingham of Wilson, NC; special god sisters, Gladys Atkinson, Brenda Edwards, Beatrice Atkinson, Jean Harris and Ernestine Best all of Wilson, NC; a very special friend and confidant, Bennie Exum; one sister-in-love, Shirlene Hamm; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other dedicated relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Saturday at 11:00 am in preparation for the funeral procession.
