Mr. Richard Lee Davis, 89, of 904 Faison St, Wilson, NC, passed away, Monday, November 22, 2021, at his home.

The public visitation is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

The burial is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.

All other funeral arrangements will be private.

          Richard Lee Davis born on Daniel Hill in Wilson, NC to Staton Davis, Sr. and Doretta Sherrod Davis. He transitioned to his eternal reward on November 22, 2021, at his home in Wilson.

          Richard was raised in Wilson, NC and received his formal education in the Wilson County Public School System.

          Following graduation, Richard worked as a delivery person and a store clerk for several years. Using skills learned and discipline he developed; he sort and obtained a job with Branch Banking and Trust Co. For over thirty years Richard worked as a clerical support person in many different capacities and retired from the bank as a printing press operator.

          Richard lived a very independent lifestyle. Having been the second of twelve children, he had to assume a great deal of responsibility in helping provide for his brothers and sisters. He was always very specific when it came to his shopping habits and his taste of food. If something was not up to his standard, he would let you know.

          Preceding him in death were his parents; Staton Davis, Sr. and Doretta S. Davis, two sisters; Lorena D. Darden and Sudie D. Farmer and one brother, Staton Davis, Jr.

           Richard leaves his love and cherished memories to his daughter, Katrina Bonne’ Benton and his granddaughter, Katina Louise Benton both of Rocky Mount, NC, his stepdaughter, Patricia Robinson Toliver (Kenneth) of Wilson, NC: two sisters, Jo Ann Woods of Philadelphia, PA and Doretta Anderson of Durham, NC; six brothers, David Davis and Charles Davis (Janet) both of Wilson, NC, Leonard Davis (Joan) of Clinton, MD, Carl Davis (Sandra) of Baltimore, MD, Dan Davis (Agnes) of Greensboro, NC and William Ashley Davis of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
