Mr. Reubin Artis, Sr, 96, of 1013 Aycock Street South, Wilson, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at his home.
Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020, at L.N. Forbes OFWB Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.
A public walk through visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luthe King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Preceding him in death were: his parents, Will Artis and Mary Eliza Williams Artis.
Left to cherish precious memories are: his loving and devoted wife of 76 years, Margie B. Lane Artis; six sons, Rubin Artis, Jr. (Margaret), Wesley D. Artis (Sheila) and Keith W. Artis (Geraldine), all of Wilson, NC, Richard L. Artis (Alether) of Durham, NC, Maurice Artis (Yvonne) of Chattanooga, TN and Eric A. Artis of Rocky Mount, NC; five daughters, Emma J. Clark of Chesapeake, VA, Ernestine A. Young “TINE” (David) of Portsmouth, VA, Rose M. Somerville (Donnell) of Suffolk, VA, Betty D. Jones of Raleigh, NC and Phyllis A. Pope (Jacque) of Hampton, VA; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; his twin sister, Mattie R. Farmer of Alexandria, VA; sister-in-law, Alma Dee Gaylord of Yorktown, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, including a special first cousin, Pastor Robert Harris of Mitchellville, MD, other relatives and many loving friends.
