Rederick C. Henderson

Mr. Rederick C. Henderson, 87, of 2419 Bel Air Avenue, Wilson, NC passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at L. N. Forbes Tabernacle, 1800 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.  The public visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at L. N. Forbes Tabernacle.  At other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence.  The burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC with military rites.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by:  his parents, Roderick Taylor and Hattie Henderson; his brothers, Lucian J. Henderson, Sr. and Jesse A. Henderson, Sr.; and his in-laws, T. Roosevelt Ellis, Jr., Margaret C. Allen, Marion Allen Christian and Charles C. Allen.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Beverly Allen Henderson; daughter, Lisa Y. Henderson and her wife, Lorna Subramanien, daughter, Karla M. Henderson-Jackson and her husband, Sean E. Jackson; granddaughter, Sydney D. Jackson; daughter, Valerie Briggs; sister, Hattie Henderson Ellis; surrogate son, Charles L. Williams and his wife, Mimi A. Williams and sons, Julien C. and Malek L. Williams; uncle, LeRoy McJames, Jr.; aunt, Dolores Brummer Jones; brother-in-law, John C. Allen, III and wife, Gladys P. Allen; sisters-in-law, Lynne C. Allen and Sallie T. Allen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.
