Mother Dorothy Inez Swain

Mother Dorothy Inez Bullock Swain, 101, peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Wilson Pines Nursing Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 11:00 am at Salisbury AME Zion Church, 2029 Lipscomb Rd, Wilson, NC. Burial will follow at Bullock Cemetery, 30 Otter Creek Church Road, Fountain, NC.  Public Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018, 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC, 27893. 

Mother Swain was preceded in death by: her husband, Dennis Swain; her parents, George and Nora Barnes Bullock; three daughters, Jean Bryant, Barbara Swain and Christine Swain; three sons, Dennis Swain, Timothy Swain and Joe Willie Swain; four sisters, Lula Sumner, Roberta Sims, Clara Moore and Helen Mitchell; and two brothers, Lynwood Bullock and Willie Bullock.

Mother Swain leaves many cherished and loving memories are left to: three children, Peggie Swain Brown of Daytona Beach, FL,  Ronald Swain of Wilson, NC and Donald Swain and wife, Robin, of Knightdale, NC; daughter-in-law, Carla Swain of Wilson; sixteen grandchildren; a host of great and great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC  27893
