Minister Clifton Bill Atkinson, 78 of 211 Reid Street E., Wilson, NC passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at his home in Wilson, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at The Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC. Bishop George T. Atkinson will deliver words of comfort; the burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Gardens, on Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.
A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Atkinson and Estella Cobb Atkinson; five sisters, Emma Lee Meeks, Alice Manning, Minnie Lee Barnes, Esther High and Ada Atkinson Harris; and three brothers, Walter “Jay” Atkinson, Jr., William “Buck” Atkinson, and Bobby Ray Atkinson.
He leaves many loving and cherished memories to his beloved wife of 58 years of marriage, Rosie Farmer Atkinson; two sons, Calvin Atkinson of the home (special friend Annette) and Clifton Atkinson Jr. (Elisha) of Wake Forest, NC; five daughters, Faye Atkinson Brown (John) of Raleigh, NC, Dee Atkinson Rasberry (James) of Raleigh, NC, Lisa Atkinson Caine (Michael) of Middlesex, NC, Janice Atkinson Pender (Reggie) of Wilson, NC, and Patricia Atkinson-Cotton of Knightdale, NC, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters, Fannie Powell of Wilson, NC and Annie Doris Jones of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, twin Clarence “Joe” Atkinson (Blossie) of New Haven, CT, George Thomas Atkinson (Carrie) of Wilson, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, including a special daughter, Charlotte Bullock Atkinson of Wilson, NC and a godson, Timmie Britt Jr., of Rocky Mount, NC.
