Ms. Mildred Bass Barnes, 96, of 441 Mountain View Senior Apts., Kernersville, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Janice C. Boykin, 111 W. Florida Street, Greensboro, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home. Bishop Chester Aycock will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes St., Wilson, NC.
The public visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 24, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, prior to the service.
Ms. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, A. B. Barnes; her children, Irvin G. Barnes and Pamela M. Barnes; one grandson, Nathaniel Boykin; her parents, James Bass and Genevieve Bass; and twelve brothers and sisters.
She leaves many loving memories to: three sons, Keith Norris Barnes of Graham, NC, Dwight Lamonte Pegues of Rocky Mount, NC and Mahlon Bass Pegues of Graham, NC; three daughters, Sharon Angela Richmond of Kernersville, NC, Deborah Karen Woodard (Travis) of Wilson, NC and Janice C. Boykin of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Sonya, Ivan, Johnathan, Daniel, Celeste, Billy R., Kevin, and Marli; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
