Mr. Mark James Woodard, 53, of 3804 Trace Drive, W. Wilson, NC passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Duke University Hospital of Durham, NC.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes St., Wilson, NC. Elder Teresa Dickens will officiate.
The public visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Woodard was preceded in death by: his parents, John Thomas Woodard and Peggy Ann Mitchell Woodard; one brother, Robert Earl Woodard, his grandmother, Mildred Atkinson Barnes; one aunt, Claretta Boykin; a special nephew, Milton Mitchell, Jr.; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Bynum Mitchell.
He leaves many memories to: his devoted and loving wife, Beverly Lane Woodard of the home; three sons, Terrance Varner of Wilson, NC, Marcus Varner of Raleigh, NC and Mark Woodard, Jr. of Greenville, NC; one daughter, Faith Woodard of the home; five sisters, Evangelist Alison Locus, Connie Woodard, Elder Teresa Dickens, and Mildred Woodard, all of Wilson, NC and Erica Hager (Russell) of Manassas, VA; five brothers, Milton Mitchell, Ronald Woodard (Rosaline), Tyrone Woodard (Francine), John Woodard (kischea) and Jermaine Roundtree (Tiffany), all of Wilson, NC; his grandfather, Wallace T.J. Barnes of Rochester, NY; three uncles, Joe Nobles of Raleigh, NC, H. B. Nobles of Snow Hill, NC and Dennis J. Woodard of Wilson, NC; four aunts, Bessie Lee Hardy, Bettie Jean Jackson and Nancy McArthur, all of Wilson, NC and Betsy N. Hardy (Donnie) of Hopewell, VA; a special bonus aunt, Georgia Hall of Wilson, NC; one sister-in-law, Shirley Woodard of Lucama, NC; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Lane; a special god-daughter, Tenekia Artis (Brandon) of Wilson, NC; a best friend who was like a brother, Roy Farmer, two additional special friends, Felecia Davis of Lucama, NC and Mother Kay Alston of Wilson, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
