Mrs. Louetta “Gussie” Applewhite, 85, of 307 S. Sycamore Street, Fremont, NC passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.
The public walk-through visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
Louetta “Gussie” Jones Applewhite was preceded in death by: her husband, Benjamin Applewhite; her parents, James Jones and Piccola Coley Jones; three sisters, Daphne Lewis, Lois Kornegay and Lillie Mae Jones; and four brothers, James “Bunk” Jones, Jr., Brandon Charles Lindberg “Short” Jones, Simon “Nub” Jones and Nolan Jones.
Precious and everlasting memories will forever linger in the hearts of: five daughters, Sandra Ingram and Wanda (Leanderson) Raiford, both of Goldsboro, NC, Portia Elrefaey, Monica Applewhite and Topeka Graham, all of Fremont, NC; one step-daughter, Shirley (Eddie) Honey of Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren, Letitia (Tony) Thompson of Durham, NC, Kizzy Applewhite of Morrisville, NC, Tomica (Gerald) Cox of Cary, NC, Torica (Taijuan) Fuller of Raeford, NC, Devita Artis of Cary, NC, Lavita Applewhite and Jacob Graham, both of Fremont, NC; two great grandchildren, Justin Applewhite of Raleigh, NC and Trinity Cox of Cary, NC; two step-grandchildren, Isaiah Graham of Charleston, SC and Joshua Graham of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Bobbie (Clarice) Sears of Washington, DC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other special relatives and friends.
