Lillie Mae Artis Obituary

Mrs. Lillie Mae Artis, 86, of 5256 Hwy. 91, Alt. 264 E., Wilson, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. 

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Atkins Memorial Tabernacle, 6740 Rock Ridge Sims Road, Sims, NC. Pastor Nathaniel Spells will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

A public viewing is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC with the family being there from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to meet and greet friends.

Mrs. Artis was preceded in death by:  her parents, William Aaron Pender and Carrie Lee Lucas Pender; two sisters, Minnie Ree Spencer and Willie Bell Spencer; and five brothers, Roscoe Pender, Harry Pender, Charlie Ray Pender, Norman Pender and Lee Pender.

She leaves many precious memories to:  her husband, Nehemiah Artis of the home; one son, Paul Foxworth of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Crystal Cooper of Wilson, NC; four grandchildren, Paul Foxworth, Jr. (Alexis) of Dallas, TX, Eriq Cooper, Richard Foxworth and Christopher Cooper, all of Wilson, NC; one great grandchild, Landon Foxworth of Dallas, TX; one brother, Johnny Hill (Gladys Ann) of Elm City, NC; three sisters-in-law, Sybil Moore of Nashville, TN, Mamie Lee Pender of Lucama, NC, and Rosa Pender of SC; four brothers-in-law, Jesse Dickerson (Faye) and J. D. Newsome, all of Wilson, NC, Jerome Artis and James Artis, both of Goldsboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence and will also meet there on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 12 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
