Kenneth Newsome Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Newsome, 78, of Wilson, NC, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022,  at Wilson Pines and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  

The public walk-through visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.  The family will gather at Stevens Funeral Home between 10:30 and 10:45 on Saturday, April 23, in preparation for the funeral service.

Mr. Newsome was preceded in death by:  his wife, Sharon Ann Hawkins Roberts-Newsome; his parents, Ralph Newsome and Mattie Beatrice Rountree Newsome; and his siblings, Ralph Newsome, Jr., Charles Newsome, JoAnn Newsome Bigger and Mary Newsome Melton.

He leaves many loving memories to : one son, Kenneth Newsome, Jr. (Jakeydra) of Florida; one step-daughter, Ayana May (Otis) of Wilson, NC; two step-sons, Eric Roberts (Amber) and Derick Roberts (Gwen), both of Florida; eight step-grandchildren, A.J., Jacoby, Dikeeme, Akende, Kiayana, Darius, Kia and Gianni; two step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Devella Newsome Adams (Edgar) of Kings Mountain, NC, Beatrice Newsome of Stanley, NC and Sheila Newsome Spence (Gamel) of Windell, NC; four brothers, Jimmie Newsome (Shirley) of Rocky Mount, NC, Robert Newsome (Peggy) of San Antonio, TX, Ricky Newsome of Wilson, NC and Lawhelton Newsome of San Antonio, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews to include, Andrew, Linda Ann, Charles, Vicky, Kim, Kelvin, Alonzo (Junie), Micky, Sharon, Jeffrey, Shawna, Robbie, Akili-Morgan and Shannon; several cousins and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
