Joseph Barnes

Mr. Joseph Barnes, 89, of Wilson, NC passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at The Brian Center of Wilson, NC.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  Pastor Marvin Taylor will deliver the Eulogy.  The family will meet at Stevens Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. on Friday in preparation for the Memorial Service.  

Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by: his parents, Johnnie Barnes, Sr. and Lossie McCoy Barnes; one daughter, Victoria V. Warren and three brothers, Jessie Barnes, Johnnie Barnes, Jr. and Willie “Coonie” Barnes.  

He leaves a legacy of love and remembrance to: two daughters, Janice Battle of Rocky Mount, NC and Wanda Woodson (Charles) of Colorado Springs, CO, three sons, Michael A. Barnes (Elizabeth) of Wilson; Richard V. Barnes (Iris) of New Palestine, IN and Shawn Q. Barnes (Troy) of Midlothian, VA; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Barnes of Wilson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other special relatives and friends.

The family of the late Joseph Barnes deeply appreciate the many acts of kindness and prayers during the illness of their loved one. Due to COVID-19 the family will not be receiving family and friends at this time nor will there be a repast.
