Mr. John Russell Gear, 60, of Wilson, North Carolina, passed away on May 1, 2026, at ECU Health Service League in Greenville, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Higher Calling Baptist Church, 4036 Ward Boulevard, Wilson, North Carolina. Reverend James Gear will deliver the eulogy.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, North Carolina.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King., Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
