Mr. John Franklin Machen "Sonny", 81, of Raleigh, NC and a native of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025. 

In accordance with his wishes, all services will be private.  A quiet farewell is encouraged for all family & friends to cherish his memories in each’s own way.  The family gratefully appreciates your understanding, support & love. 

The family extends SPECIAL Acknowledgement & deepest gratitude to the amazing, entire Nursing Staff/Team/Resources/HOSPICE & Doctors @ Longleaf Neurological Treatment Medical Center, 3rd Floor, Wilson, N.C., where John was a long-term resident. Also Special thanks to WCSS Adult Guardianship, Raleigh, N.C. for all the thorough & thoughtful guiding & expertise in John’s care.  Your Patience, Kindness, Dedication, Endurance & Professionalism & Care for our Beloved Sonny shall NEVER be forgotten! May your paths be filled with Light.  In Peace, Harmony, Serenity & Love, Sonny’s memory will be forever etched in our hearts.
