Jasper Lee Powell, Jr.

Mr. Jasper Lee Powell, Jr., 52,  of  3010 Landrum Drive, Wilson, NC, passed away on October 7, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center.

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Contending For The Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, NC. Dr. Dameion Royal will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Preceding him in death were: one sister, Lisa Jean Powell and his grandparents, Thelma Hall, Charlie Hall and Laura Mae Powell.

Surviving to cherish fond memories are: one son, Kionte Powell of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Kechara “Mookie” Powell of Greenville, NC; a cousin, who was like a brother to him, Elder Miguel “Toby” Hall; three grandchildren, K’Maria Powell and Z’Niyah Powell both of Wilson, NC and Brielle Burnett of Greenville; his father, Jasper Lee Powell, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; his mother, Bobbie Jean Suggs (James “Joe”) of the home; two sisters, Deborah Yelverton of Wilson, NC, Cynthia Knight (Daniel) of Knightdale, NC and Jacqueline Vick of St. Louis, MO; one uncle, Robert Powell of NY; four aunts, Tudie Ward (Robert) of Zebulon, NC, Brenda Lucas (Jerome) and Bobbire Jean Powell both of Wilson, NC and Shirley Singleton of NY; five nephews, Cornelius Yelverton, Brandon Jackson, Justin Jordan, Rhyen Knight and Jordan Knight; one niece, Latoya Yelverton and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
