Jaronia Lee Mitchell Obituary

Jaronia Lee Mitchell, 95, of 510 Pineview Avenue, Pink Hill, NC, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC.  The family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mac and Ann Whitfield, 4028 Duplin County Road, Pink Hill, NC.

Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2020, 1:00pm at Smith Chapel FWB Church, 413 Old Beulaville Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572.  A public visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2020, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Smith Chapel FWB Church in Pink Hill, NC.

Preceding her in death were: her first husband, Walker Lee Williams; two daughters, Lillie Bell Williams and Ann Best; her parents, Eli Rose and Christine Smith;  siblings, Viola Garland, Eva Walls, Evelyn Burnette, Josephine Miller, Hazetta Battle, Viola Graham, Elijah Rose, Virginia Sutton, Arthur Fullwood, Moses Fullwood, Rosetta Fullwood, Lillie Mae Hall, Thomas Rose, Flegnor Rose and Lucille Rose.

Jaronia leaves cherished memories to:  her husband, Marion Lee Mitchell, Sr. of the home; four sons, Walker Lee Williams, Jr. of Kinston, NC, Thomas Earl Williams (Mary Ann) of Snow Hill, NC, Pastor Marion Mitchell, Jr. (Patricia) of Pink Hill, NC and Scottie Mitchell of Clayton, NC; four daughters, Janice Marie Williams of La Grange, NC, Ann D. Whitfield (Mac) of Pink Hill, NC, Gwendolyn Kornegay (Thomas) of Kinston, NC and Wanda DeGraffenreid of Raleigh, NC; thirty-four grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vermel Hall of Warsaw, NC; three brothers-in-law, Willie Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell and James Mitchell; seven sisters-in-law, W. Mae Gaillard, Louise Fullwood, Minnie Stackhouse, Rose Hardy, Connie Simmons, Margaret Whitings and Faye Kowalski: a special caregiver, Mildred Green;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC..
