James Robert Hood

Mr. James Robert Hood, 71, of 1305 Marlowe Street, Wilson, NC passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Branch Memorial Tabernacle United Holiness Church, 517 Hadley Street, SE Wilson, NC.

A public visitation has been scheduled for Saturday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Deacon Hood was preceded in death by his father, Lacy “Tony” Waldo Hood; his wife, Evelyn B. Hood; his son Robert “Mitchell” Hood, Minister Robert Muhammad; his grandson, Qaif Muhammad; his brother, Larry Hood; his sister, Annie Hood; and his daughter in law, Hassana Muhammad.

He leaves to cherish his memories to loving and devoted, special friend,  Adrianne “Nene” Anderson; and her mother, Lena Anderson, friend, care   taker of Wilson, NC; his mother, Rubell Hood of Snow Hill, NC; son, Tyrone Hood, Melchizedek Muhammad; daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Fairfax both of Elizabeth, NJ; his brothers, Lacy W. Hood (Delois) of Goldsboro, NC, William L. Hood of New York, NY, Linwood E. Hood of Elizabeth, NJ, Timothy Hood of Atlanta, GA, Ernest Hood of Queens, NY, Melvin Hood of Snow Hill, NC, and Anthony G. Hood of Miami, FL; his sisters, Verga C. Brooks (Walter) of Cary, NC, Bertha H. Holloway of Atlanta, GA, and Rosa H. Jackson of Snow Hill, NC; his uncles, Johnnie Topping of Detroit, MI, James Topping of Gardner, NC, and Billie E. Rasberry of Kinston, NC; his aunts, Hattie Williams of Cary, NC, Georgia “Mabel” Parker of Greenville, NC, Janie Darden of Farmville, NC; a host of grandchildren, including three that he raised: Bob, Jerome and Hassan Fairfax; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; his god children, Quinetta Anderson of    Rahway, NJ, Theodore “Teddy,” Israel “Izzy,” and Rayven Anderson of  Wilson, NC, and Percel Darden of Wilson, NC.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, located at 1820 Martin Luther King Jr., Parkway, NC.
