James Barnes

Mr. James Barnes, 79, of 1805 Sylvia Court, Wilson, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on  Friday, October 1, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

The public walk-through is scheduled for Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

James was preceded in death by: his parents, Kayla and Gertrude Nelson; one daughter, Gail Norwood; one sister Doris Sauls; and two brothers, Earl Sauls and Alton Peck.

Left to cherish precious memories of James are: his wife, Minnie Barnes of the home; one daughter, Eunice Steele (Donnie) of Washington, DC; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Donnie Sauls of Wilson, NC and Larry Sauls (Patricia) of White Oaks, NC; four sisters, Gloria Jean Whitley (Bobby), Pastor Dianne S. Dew, Shirley Moody, and Doris Eason; and a host of nieces, nephews, including special nephews, Curtis Manning and Devon Barnes, loving relatives and friends, including special friends, Charlie Algood and Pastor Marvin Taylor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
