J. D. Worthy

Mr. J.D. Worthy, 58, of Wilson, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at his residence.

The funeral services is  scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on  Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Contending For The Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, NC. The burial will follow in St. Delight Cemetery, Walstonburg, NC.

A public walkthrough is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on  Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

In addition to his parents, JD was preceded in death by: four brothers; Charles Worthy, William A. Worthy, James Ray Worthy, and Eddie Lee Worthy.

JD leaves behind to cherish his memories are his two beautiful daughters: Latrice "Treat" Fox and LaVonda "Vonda" Worthy; one handsome grandson whom he loved dearly, NaZion "Zi" Oneal; one   sister, Maggie Jean Murphy (Sylvester Ruffin Sr.); four brothers, Essie Worthy Jr. (Barbara Jean), Raymond Worthy (Shauna), William Douglas Worthy all of Wilson, NC and Phillip Worthy of Lucama NC; one sister-in-law, Belinda Worthy of Wilson NC; one aunt, Queen Esther Young of Miami, FL; nieces and nephews, Angela (Sam), Nicole, Samantha, Shanda, Cedric Jr. (Anita), Toya (Bobby), Kimberly, Chrissie, Melinda (Marcus), Beverly (Greg), Barbara, William, Louise, Aretha, Laura, and Melokese; a special cousin, Betty Jean Joyner; a   special friend/aide, Brussard Alston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
