Ms. Gwendolyn Battle Roberson, 63, of 2404 Womble Street, Wilson, NC passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. Reverend Timothy Moore will deliver the Words of Comfort. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Gardens, 1601 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.
A public walk-through is scheduled for Friday, January 8, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joe Henry Battle and Beatrice Barnes Battle (Moore); step-father, William Duke Moore; sisters, Ester “Pete” Simon, Henrietta Johnson, and Joyce Ward; step-sister, Alma G. Moore Sharpe; brothers, Bobby Battle, Bobby Barnes, Kenneth Whitaker, and Mack Henry Battle.
Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her loving memories to: three daughters, Kenetta Roberson of the home, Christy Roberson, Wilson, NC, and Tonya Carr (Phillip) Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren, Lamonte, Michael, Asia, Jaelin, Ashanti, Amaria, and Kaden; one great-grandchild, Analayah; four sisters, Rebecca Harris, Sims, NC, Carolyn Cunningham (Tyrone) MD, Delores Suttles, Wilson, NC, Gladys Tucker (Nathaniel) Wilson, NC; one brother, Clarence Battle (Cindy) Washington, DC; five step-brothers, Ernest Moore (Lucinda), William Moore (Jacqueline), Douglas Moore (Mary), Christopher Moore (Peggy), and Reverend Timothy Moore (Florine); two aunts, Inez Banks, Wilson, NC, and Elsie Bulluck, Las Vegas, NV; one uncle, Otis Weaver (Doris) Wilson, NC; one god-daughter, Takeysha Gear; one god-son, Delfonza Jones; two special friends, Yolanda Thomas and Frankie McAllister, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
