George Thomas Rodgers

Mr. George Thomas Rodgers, 80, passed away on September 25, 2021, at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at St. Rose Church of Christ, 605 Douglas St. S, Wilson, NC. Evangelist Geraldine Whitley will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, 1603 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.

The public walk-through is scheduled for Friday, October 8, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Rodgers and Bessie Elizabeth Armstrong Rodgers.

Left to cherish precious memories of George are: two sons, George Thomas Rogers, Jr. of Tarboro, North Carolina and Darnell Hunter of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; two daughters, Brenda Hill of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Christina Henderson (Tim) of Nashville, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Ada Moore of Wilson, North Carolina, Mary Rodgers of Brooklyn, New York, Paulette Ruffin of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Elaine James, Bessie Campbell, and Gladys Rodgers all of Titusville, Florida; a very special friend, Ms. Channie Lucas; one goddaughter, Ms. Oneida Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mrs. Devora Ruffin and Ms. Vicky Ward.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
