Gary L. Cox Jr.

The funeral service for Mr. Gary L. Cox Jr. will be held Friday, June 19, 2020, at 6:30 pm at Love Temple - Southern District Convocation, 201 N. Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina.  His grandfather, Dr. Alex Cox, will deliver the "Words of Comfort". 

The family will be present at 5:30 pm to greet friends.  

A private burial will be held at a later date.

The family requests that all attendees wear a mask and adhere to the social distancing standards.

Among his many survivors are his parents, Gary and Theresa Cox; and his sister, the apple of his eye, Sheris Cox.

A certified EMT from Goldsboro, Gary worked full-time for Greenville Fire/Rescue and was a volunteer with the Red Oak Community Rural Fire Department. He was a graduate of East Carolina University.

Earlier this spring, Gary was recorded on video reading from the book “The Three Bears” as part of a series of online storytime videos that Red Oak firefighters created to entertain local children during the pandemic.
