Ms. Evangeline K."Boonkie" Newsome, age 66, of Saratoga, North Carolina transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Hunter Hill Assisted Living in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Her Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. James United Holy Church, 100 Main Street, Stantonsburg, NC 27883. Dr. Ralph E. Love will deliver the eulogy; burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC 27893.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Wilson, NC.
