Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Simms Jr., better known as "Mutt Lee" 74, of 1726 Meadowbrook Lane, Wilson, NC, will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 1:00 pm at L.N. Forbes O.F.W.B. Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC. The committal will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery.
A public visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy, Wilson, NC.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were: one son, Marlon Jermaine Anderson and one sister, Annie Doris Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his significant other, Hattie Parker; one sister Ruby Jean Simms Walker of Wilson, NC, seven daughters, his twins Karen Simms Alston (Trent) of Raleigh NC, Sharon Simms Daniel (Willie) also known as Big Baby and Little Baby, Tammie Simms Harris (Timothy), Michelle Hinton (Randall), Valerie “Renee: Anderson, all of Wilson, NC Connie Lucas of Maryland and Wanda Fields Rivera of Kinston, NC, three sons, Christopher “Mont Mont” Simms (Jeneice) of Wilson, NC, Gary Devon Phillips (Debbie) of Rocky Mount, NC and Taiwan Anderson (Shannon) of Wilson NC, 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. A host of relatives and friends including a very special lady friend Hattie Parker who he resided with, special cousins Joyce Bryant, Jess Tucker and Sandra Gorham, special friends, Hubert “Boo Boo” Hammonds, Al Langston, Charlie Pender, Thomas Dawson, Sidney Lucas, Leroy Barnes, Earl Bynum, Joe, Mary Simms and Mrs. Josephine
