Eloise Sanders Barnes

Ms. Eloise Sanders Barnes, 88, of Wilson, NC, passed away at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 25, 2021.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Saint Paul  Church of Christ, 4133 Frank Price Church Road, Wilson, NC. Elder Teresa Clay will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Bishop LN Forbes Street in Wilson, NC.

Preceding Eloise in death were: her parents, Johnnie Sanders and Adelia Artis Sanders; her husband, Pharoah “June” Barnes; two daughters, Linda Faye Sanders and Rita Denise Sanders; two sisters, Lillian Artis Farmer and Eula Sanders Whitley; two brothers, Norman Artis and James “Dick” Sanders; and a foster son, Albert “Nub” Ellis.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: four sons, Darryl “Cooley” Sanders (Debra), Johnnie Earl Sanders (Connie), Antonio Barnes (Charlena), and Tyrone Ward (Kelvie) all of Wilson, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two special great-grandchildren in which she reared, Monquie and Domquie Sanders; twenty-two great-great grandchildren; two godsons, Waddell Richardson (Natasha) of Newport News, Virginia and Rodney Richardson (Katie) of Wilson, North Carolina; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A public walk-through visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
