Elder James A. Goldsby, 79, of 1213 S. Best Street, Goldsboro, NC transitioned from labor to reward on February 15, 2021 while a resident of Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.
A graveside service and military rites will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.
At other times, the family will be receiving friends at his home, 1213 S. Best Street, Goldsboro, NC. Among his many survivors is his wife for more than 50 years, Eldress Katrina Goldsby.
Preceding him in death were: one son, Stephen Goldsby; his parents, Reverend Ulysses S. Goldsby and Stella Lilly; two brothers, William Goldsby and Ulysses Goldsby.
Precious memories are left to be cherished by: his loving wife, Elder Katrina Goldsby of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters, Theresa Goldsby of Concord, NC and Helen Goldsby of Charlotte, NC; one son, Pastor Timothy Goldsby, Sr. of Goldsboro, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Alicia, Angela, Janelle, Jamie, Brittany, Timothy, Jr., Theresa Joi, Anonda, Demarcus, David, Dominick, Muhjahid Jr., and Niambi; eight great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Makayla, Joey, Sabastian, Elizabeth, Byron, Athena, and Ava; one sister, Carlon of Detroit, MI; and a host of other loving relatives, church family, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
