Elder Howard Lee Woodard, 74, of 910 Hood Street, S.W., Wilson, NC passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at his home.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC at 1:00 p.m. Elder Ernest Ray Melton will officiate.
The public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2021, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC. At other times, the family will meet friends at the home of his daughter, Annette Parker, 910 Hood Street, S.W., Wilson, NC.
Preceding Elder Woodard in death were: his daughter, Sharon Cameron; his parents, Elder Jimmy and Reba Woodard; five sisters, Lucy Barnes, Rosa Barnes, Mae Lee Barnes, Reba Hopkins and Laura Battle.
He leaves his cherished memories to: his loving wife, Alma Hopkins Woodard of the home; daughter, Annette Woodard Parker (Jesse) of Wilson, NC; sons, Tony Lee Woodard of Wilson, NC and Howard Lee Woodard, Jr. of Chapel Hill, NC; step-daughters, Antoinette Applewhite (Michael), Beverley Armstrong (Anthony) both of Wilson, NC and Cheryl Doris Cobb of Greenville, NC; step-sons, Tony Hoskins (Gloria) of Yakima, Washington and Michael Hoskins of the home; three brothers, Jimmy Woodard (Nettie) of Wilson, NC, Elder Tim Woodard (Annie) of Sharpsburg, NC and Bishop Billy Woodard of Elm City, NC; two sisters, Peggy W. Swinson of Sharpsburg, NC and Mother Bertha Barnes (William) of Elm City, NC; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special nieces who attended to his needs, Cathy Barnes and Peggy McCormick; special cousins, David Lee Ruffin and Lester “Buster” Woodard; a special “sidekick”, Chauncey “Chuck” Speight; several aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
