Ms. Dorothy "Sue" Jean Langston, 81, of 7009 Page Street, Saratoga, NC, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at her home.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2020, 1:00 p.m., at L.N. Forbes OFWB Tabernacle, 1800 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street formerly Lane Street, Wilson, NC.
A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Sue was preceded in death: by her parents Mr. John Henry Langston and Mrs. Gertrude Bynum Langston; her only son, Junior Lee Langston and two grandsons, Baby Dartanion Edwards and Domonique Henderson; six siblings, four brothers, Charlie, Robert Lee, Willie, and her twin Bobby Gene Langston and two sisters, Louise Langston, and Rosetta Taylor. Also preceding her in death one sister in law, Ethel Langston; three brothers in law, William Taylor, Carless Bullock, and Theodore Edwards.
She leaves on earth to cherish her memories: her five daughters, Carmen Dianne Best (James), and Barbara Ann Langston of Saratoga NC, Sylvia Brown-Bay (Nathaniel) and Frieda Miller (Edward) of Washington, DC and Bernell Byars of Forestville, MD.; thirteen grandchildren, Reginald Best, Anissa Pender, NaTasha Price (Robert), Camelia Miller, Lamont Langston, Christopher Langston, Edward Miller III, Cortez Edwards, Bianca Edwards (Erica), Sha’nee Miller, Dartisha Edwards, Kianca Edwards, and Jo’Nee Miller. Thirty-two great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Bullock of Wilson, NC, Ethel Edwards of Union, NJ, and Virgie Sullivan (Michael) of Capitol Heights, MD; one brother, Roscoe Langston (Annie) of Wilson, NC; a special niece, Doris Finch with whom she shared a kindred spirit and a host of other cherished nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Sue also held the title of Godmother to five people that she held near and dear to her heart, Terri Miller-Davis (Miami), Alvin Short, Tyronda Carr, and Debra Washington and Doris Washington.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
