Dorethea Bethea Jones

Ms. Dorethea Bethea Jones, 84, of 931 Tessie Street, Rocky Mount, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at UNC Nash Healthcare, Rocky Mount, NC.

The graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton Burial Garden, 1603 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC. Elder Arthur Cherry will deliver the message of comfort. 

A public walk-through is also scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Preceding Dorethea in death were: her husband,   Thomas Jones; two sons, Antonio Jones and Donald Ray Jones; her parents, Mitt and Betsy Edwards; two sisters,   Lillian Barnes and Ann Lawton, and one brother, Bobby Bethea.

Loving and cherished memories are left to: two    daughters, Bettie Jones (Nathaniel), and Dorothy Newkirk (Larry), both of Rocky Mount, NC; seven sons, William Bethea (Josephine), Andre Jones (Tawanda), Wayne Jones (Amy), all of Sharpsburg, NC, Anthony Jones (Sylvia) of Wilson, NC, Thomas Bethea (Tina), and Brandon Williams (Melissa), both of Rocky Mount, NC, and James Jones (Vickie) of Medoc, NC; thirty-six grandchildren; sixty-three great grandchildren; one god-son, Gerald Farmer; two brothers, James Bethea (Pearl) of Sharpsburg, NC, and Tim Harris of Elm City, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friend, Moses Horn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, North Carolina, 27893.
