Deacon Leroy Roberson, Sr.

Deacon Leroy Roberson, Sr. 89, 2209 Imperial Ave., Wilson, NC, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. Paul Church of Christ, 4139 Frank Price Church Road, Black Creek, NC.  The family will be present for the public visitation which is scheduled for Friday, June 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. prior to the service.  Bishop Percell Cooper will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L. N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC with military honors.

Deacon Roberson, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Roberson and Mattie Ellis Roberson; and his siblings, Bessie Morgan, Earnest Roberson, Jr., Nathaniel Roberson, James Ander Roberson, Benjamin Roberson, Ted Woodard and Daniel Roberson.

He leaves many loving memories to his loving and devoted wife, Bettie Lucas Roberson of the home; one son, Leroy Roberson, Jr. (Jacquelyn Sinclair) of Winston Salem, NC; one daughter, Jennifer Roberson Poole, MD (Terrance) of Winterville, NC; two grandchildren, Danereka Sinclair of Charlotte, NC and Terrance Poole, Jr. of Winterville, NC; one great grandchild, Rylan Jace Sinclair of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a life-long friend, Lester Rogers (Betty).

The family will assemble at the residence Friday at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820  Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
