Daisy Rountree Barnes

Mrs. Daisy Rountree Barnes, 93, of 1110 E. Washington Street, Wilson, NC., passed away on January 22, 2020 at her home.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 12 noon at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street Ext., SE, Wilson, NC.  Elder Phillip Rountree, Sr. will deliver the message and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  A public viewing is scheduled from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC with the family being there to meet and greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by:  her husband, John H. Barnes, Sr.; her parents, Herbert Rountree, Sr. and Elizabeth Batts Rountree; five brothers, Herbert Rountree, Jr., Roland Rountree, James Rountree, Floyd Rountree and Marvin Rountree; and one sister, Doris Farrington.

She leaves loving and cherished memories to:  one son, John H. Barnes, Jr. of Wilson; two daughters, Jeanette B. Atkinson of the home and Margaret B. Mincey of Wilson; two grandchildren, Byron Atkinson of Charlotte and Eddie B. Dickerson of Wilson; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Kyden, Byrce, Kaleb and Christian; one sister, Ruby Staton (Tommie) of Wilson; one brother, Jesse Rountree (Inez) of Elm City; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Rountree of Wilson and Betty Rountree of Rocky Mount; one godson, Reginald Rountree (Peggy) of Cherry Hill, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted  to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
