Mrs. Cornette Atkinson 59, passed away March 26, 2018, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC with an inspirational wake service at 7:30 pm also on Friday March 30, 2018 at Life in The Word Ministries, 3677 Highway 301 N. Wilson, NC.
Carlette was preceded in death by her parents; Eula Mae Peagues Oates Harris and Joseph Anderson; four sisters, Betty Jean Blackston, Veronica Faye Oates, Brenda Lee Blackston Atkinson and Linda F. Anderson; two brothers, Larry Williams and Franklin Delano Oates.
She leaves her everlasting loving memories to her devoted and beloved husband for 36 years, Robert Atkinson of the home; her three sons, Amwar Atkinson of Centreville, Virginia, Cedric Atkinson and Johnathan Atkinson of Tampa, Florida; two grandsons, De’Angelo Atkinson and Lamar Atkinson of Washington, DC; A special daughter, Lisa Atkinson of Washington, DC; and special friend of the family, Noah Ivery; five sisters; Frances Oates Silver (Bobby) of Wilson, NC, Peggy Lee Joyner of Lucama, NC, Renee Oates of Spring Hope, NC, Sherill Edwards and Sally Patricia Oates of Silver Spring Md; three brothers, Duarthur Oates (Priscilla), William “Bill” Oates (Sheran), Johnny Oates (Kathryn); brothers and sisters from her dad, Hazel V. Crump of Somerset, NJ, Carrie L. Jenkins of Wilson, NC, Frances A. Hewlett of Raleigh, NC, Joseph R. Anderson of Frankfort, Germany, Kenneth R. Anderson of Rocky Mount, NC, Curtis H. Anderson (Pam) of Salisbury, MD, Billy R. Anderson of Wake Forest, NC, Doris A. Sauls of Wilson, NC., Douglas W. Anderson (Jacinta) of Clayton, NC, Floyd R.
