Deacon Claude Leonard Bonner, Jr.,83, of 2215 Imperial Avenue, Wilson, NC, passed away on October 19, 2018 at Wilson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 519 Singletary Street, Wilson, NC. Elder Ernest Melton will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Deacon Bonner was preceded in death by his parents Claude Bonner, Sr. and Jeanette Simms Bonner; one brother, Joseph Bonner and two sisters, Cleo Fenwick and Carrie Purvis.

He leaves many cherished memories to:his wife Jean Williams Bonner of the home; two sons, Terry Leonard Bonner (Lemelia) and Tony Leonard Bonner (Marcia) both of Wilson, NC; two daughters, Janice Jackson (Roland IV) of Montgomery, AL and Patricia Sauls (Larry) of Wilson, NC; eight grandchildren, Roland, Daniel, Richard, Brian, Joshua, Cyera, Taryn and Jordan; three great grandchildren, Bryon, Lilly and Kaleb; one sister, Elsie Robinson of Elmhurst, NY; four sisters-in-law, Clara Braswell (Rev. Edward Braswell) of Elm City, NC, Louise Williams of Cary, NC, Carolyn Bynum of Hyattsville, MD and Anne Bonner of Rocky Mount, NC; brother-in-law, Jerry Williams of Fayetteville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including, two very special friends who were like brothers to him, Deacon George Cooper and Elder James Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home, where they will assemble on Sunday at 11:00 am, in preparation for the funeral procession
