She was preceded in death by: her parents, Walter Frank Mitchell and Mildred Atkinson Mitchell; daughter, Ella Lorraine Mitchell Watson and sister, Peggy Ann Mitchell Woodard.

Claretta leaves to cherish her loving memories to: Life partner, James McDaniel of the home, four loved ones she considered as her own children, Carolyn Jones, Atlanta, GA, William Randolph Batta, Atlanta, GA, William Jones, Freeport, IL, Travis Knight (Latoya) Leesburg, VA, Morris Jones (Dawn) Wilson, NC; two goddaughters, Jamaya Haynie, Wilson, NC, and Misty Watson, PA; grandson and caregiver, Joshua E. Watson of the home; ten grandchildren she embraced as her own; great-grandchild, Ashli Lorraine Watson; step-father, Wallace T.J. Barnes, Rochester, NY; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hilliard of Wilson, NC; brother-in-law, Earl Boykin, Wilson, NC; a very close friend who was like a sister, Ann Knight, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
