Carolyn Brooks Obituary

Ms. Carolyn Brooks of 601 W. 3rd Street, Greenville, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 12th at her residence.  The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark Holiness Church, 6328 Radio Tower Road, Wilson, NC.  Elder Carroll Strickland will officiate and burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Radio Tower Road, Wilson, NC.  The family will receive friends at all times at the residence.

Ms. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents:  Sallie Mae Coleman and Jessie Crudup.

She leaves many cherished memories to:  her husband, Delford Brooks of Oxon Hill, MD;  her children, Richard Coleman of Wilson, NC, Balinda Diggs of the home, Charmaine Diggs of Raleigh, NC, Tracy Thomas of Washington, DC, Monique Brooks and husband, Jeffery, of Glen Burnie, MD and Carolyn Brooks of Oxon Hill, MD; nineteen grandchildren including six grandchildren whom she adopted and reared, Erica Thomas of Oxon Hill, MD, Brionna Thomas of CT, Deandre Thomas of Greenville, NC, Alexis Thomas of Knoxville, TN, Shanece Thomas of Washington, DC and Devonte Thomas of Oxon Hill, MD; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Cleo Crudup of Wilson, NC and Nelia Reeves Wade of Washington, DC; four brothers, Jessie Crudup and wife, Cynthia, of Wilson, NC, Gregory Reeves and wife, Judy, of Pasadena, MD, William Reeves of Wilson, NC and Leavon Z. Reeves of Landover, MD; four aunts, Martha Coleman of Wilson, NC who was also a dedicated caregiver, Remetro Thomas of Largo, MD, Mildred Swailes and husband, Ashby, of Dale City, VA and Elsie Coleman of Silver Springs, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC
