Brandon Jamall Bowens Obituary

Mr. Brandon Jamall Bowens, 33, of 105 Cedar Ridge Trail, Elm City, NC, transitioned from this life Sunday, July 4, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at L.N. Forbes OFWB Tabernacle, 1800 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC. Bishop Willie Thomas will deliver the words of comfort. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.

A public walk-through is scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.

Preceding Brandon in death were: his grandfather, Robert Wallace; and two uncles, Tito Hilliard and Willie Johnson, Jr.

Precious memories of Brandon will forever linger in the hearts of: his two daughters, Skylah Briggs and Nyla’Jae Bowens of Wilson, North Carolina; his son, Jayceon Briggs of Wilson, North Carolina; his mother, Lisa Andrea Bowens (Larry Jones) of Wilson, North Carolina; his father, Chante’r Jules Bowens (Pamela Lucas) of Wilson, North Carolina; his maternal grandparents, James Willie Hilliard and Helen Hilliard of Wilson, North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Annie Margaret Bowens Rountree of Wilson, North Carolina; four sisters, Shameka Bowens (Antonio Bynum), Regina Lucas, Lanika Carter, and Shaqwaya Bowens all of Wilson, North Carolina; one brother, Chante’ Bowens of Wilson, North Carolina, four aunts, Vernesa Ballard (Gregory Ballard), Demetric Hilliard, Valiesa Wallace all of Wilson, North Carolina and Joyce Hilliard of Goldsboro, North Carolina; five uncles, Maurice Hilliard (Noriko Hilliard) of Virginia, Theodore “Bud” Hilliard (Debbie Hilliard), Reginald “Rooster” Hilliard, Keith Hilliard (Iris Hilliard), and Michael Bowens (Angie Williams) all of Wilson, North Carolina; two great-uncles; Leroy Hilliard of Baltimore, Maryland and James Wallace of Peoria, Arizona; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousins, Dyqwhan "Queaky" Bowens, Judidas Williams, Dajuan "Stank" Hill, Shemaya Hilliard, and Kiana Ballard; and other relatives and friends, including special friends, Monique Briggs, James Hinnant, Dominique Winstead, Anthony Lewis, Benard George, Dontae Chestnut, Ikeem Cherry, and Tyree Clay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home,1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
