Mr. Albert Lee Artis, 72, of Wilson, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
An hour of remembrance is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway.
A public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the hour of remembrance also at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD; with a public viewing prior to the graveside service from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 am in the chapel of Fort Lincoln Funeral Home also located at 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD.
Preceding him in death were: his parents, Nathaniel and Ruthie Barnes Artis; two brothers, Karl D. Artis, Sr. and Nathaniel Artis, Jr.
Cherished memories are left to: his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Veronica Artis; two sons, Albert L. Artis, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Greenbelt, MD, and Christopher J. Artis (Carrie) of Frederick, MD; three grand children, Kai, Kendall, and Christopher J., II; four sisters, Thelma Artis of Raleigh, NC, Dollie Love of Hyattsville, MD, Linda Artis of Fremont, NC, and Shirley Pate (Leon) of Forestville, MD; four brothers, Johnny Artis of Goldsboro, NC, Bobbie Artis of Fremont, NC, Cheotis Arits (Brenda) of Wilson, NC, and William Artis (Alicia) of Goldsboro, NC; mother-in-law, Lula Mae Sutton of Pikeville, NC; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Yancey (Pastor Chris) of Wilson, NC, Brenda Jacobs (Eddie) of Bowie, MD, Pastor Diane Cooper (Bishop James) of Chester, VA, and Jennifer Sutton of Rocky Mount, NC; four brothers-in-law, Chester Sutton of Fremont, NC, Bishop William Sutton (Elder Deborah) of New Rochelle, NY, Pastor Mark Sutton (Debbie) of Wilson, NC, and Kelly Sutton of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
