Yvonne Purdie Batts

Mrs. Yvonne Purdie Batts, 69, of 511 Lodge Street, Wilson, NC,  passed away at Curis of Wilson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on April 11, 2019.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Brown Chapel FWB Church, Hadley Street, Wilson, NC. Pastor Jerome Holmes will deliver the eulogy.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Ms. Batts was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Batts; her parents, Samuel Lee Purdie and Clara Mae Winstead Purdie; her siblings, Wilbert Purdie, Leamon Purdie, Dennis Purdie, Lorraine Brown and Patricia Wright.

She leaves cherished memories to: one son, Jomanto Joyner of Bladensburg, MD; one daughter, Latoya Jones of Wilson, NC; her dog, who was really her baby, Smokey; three sisters, Hattie Pearl McCarthy and Carolyn McClain both of Wilson, NC and Gwendolyn Henderson (Roderick) of Clinton, MD; one brother, James Edward Purdie (Donna) of Bushkill, PA; seven sisters-in-law, Mary Purdie, Carolyn Purdie, Deloris Hunt (Kenny), Janet Allen, Florecia Savage, Felicia Savage and Linda Batts; three brothers-in law, George Batts, Jr., Lester Hartfield (Pam) and Danny Savage (Kimberly); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
