William Augustas Battle

Mr. William Augustas Battle, 93,1009 Jordan Street Wilson, NC, passed away on December 11, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mary Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 6202 Wiggins Mill Road, Lucama, NC. Burial will follow in Mary Grove Cemetery also at 6206 Wiggins Mill Road, Lucama. Dr. Robert Earl Wooten will deliver the eulogy. 

A public visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. 

Brother William Augustas Battle leaves happy and cherished memories to; his wife of 65 years, Mary Battle, of the home; his children, Jeffery (Ernistine) of Wilson, NC, Sheila Hunley of the home, Marcus of Wilson, NC, Kip of Goldsboro, NC, Darrius of Elm City, NC, Evelyn (Carl) of Wilson, NC, Crystal (Jessie) of Wilson, NC and Cynthia Pipkens (Alton) of Wilson, NC; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Chatman of Cliffwood, NJ and Luberta James of Lucama, NC; two sons-in-law; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends including two special nieces, Paquita Faggan of Cliffwood, NJ and Angie Simms of Lucama, NC; special friend, Patricia Chestnut and his caregiver, Keith Higgs.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King,Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
