William Wiley

Mr. William Wiley, 78, of  515 Rogers Avenue, Wilson, NC passed on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Contending For The Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, NC.  Pastor Willie T. Thomas will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway,Wilson, NC.

Mr. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, Mance Wiley and Effie Barnes Wiley; two sisters, Martha Barnes and Alli Jane Melvin and two brothers, Mance Wilder, Jr. and George A. Wiley.

He leaves cherished memories to: his wife of the home, Betty P. Wiley; two daughters, Laura B. Bonds (Danny) of Raleigh, NC and Stephanie E. Wiley (fiancee',Terry Ellis); one step daughter, Kimberly Best-Fuller (Sean) of Wilson, NC;  six grandchildren, Britni, Alexandria, Kimberly, Amaceo, Tyler and Eulysa; two step grandchildren, Aniyah and Sean, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Aniyah, Dilaura and Amaceo, Jr.  two brothers,  Jay Wiley of Raleigh, NC and Moses Wilder (Carrie Mae) of Lucama, NC; three sisters, Tina Wilder of Wilson, NC, Mildred Virgil (Vernon) of Elm City, NC and Mary Manning  (Matthew) of Philadelphia, PA; four sisters-in-law, Nina Jean Wiley, Denise Braswell (James), Marilyn Lathan and Debra Watson (Herman); two brothers-in-law, Bill Pettiford and Donald Pettiford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home, where they will assemble on Friday at 12:00 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
