Verna "Neatoe" Spells Reid

Mrs. Verna " Neatoe" Spells Reid, 56, of 705 Graham Street, Wilson, NC passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Chapel F.W.B. Church, 513 E. Barnes Street, Wilson, NC. 

Dr. Cedric E. Murphy, Sr. will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  A public viewing is scheduled for Friday May 4,2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC. 

The family will be receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there on Saturday at 12 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Robert Lee Spells, Sr.; three sisters, Jacqueline Marie Spells, Tonya Tajuania Spells and Patricia Spells; and three brothers, Robert Lee Spells, Jr., David Lamont Spells and Eric Emmanuel Spells.

Mrs. Reid leaves many loving and cherished memories to:  her husband, Robin Lee Reid of the home; one son, Robert Leon Reid of Raleigh; two daughters, Robyn Reid Sealy and husband, Carlton, and LaQuisha Reid and her special friend, DWayne Sanford, all of Wilson, NC; a special niece whom she reared as a daughter, LaShon Spells of Wilson; her mother, Florence Spells of Washington, DC; four sisters, Betty Baines of Washington, DC, Ethel Horton and husband, Tony, and Bernadette Spells, all of Wilson, NC and Jessica Spells of Greensboro, NC; three brothers-in-law, Anthony Earl Reid and wife, Teresa, Jimmy Reid, and Willie Isler, all of Wilson, NC; five sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Horne and husband, Dan, of Norfolk, VA, Ruth Batts and Jackie Douglas, both of Wilson, NC,  Linda Reid of Greensboro and Tina Reid of Trenton, NJ; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a very devoted aunt and uncle, Pastors Roy and Margaret Spell of Greenville, NC; and a very special cousin, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Terry, of Wilson, NC.

Services are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.
